POP RnD

Even today, many areas in women’s health are still considered as tabu. About 50% of women suffer from socially impaired urinary incontinence and/or pelvic organ prolapse (POP). This occurs when tissue and muscles can no longer support the pelvic organs which are mainly the vagina, uterus, bladder, and rectum.

Since 2017, together with Prof. Dr. Birgit Arabin I am developing and designing new pessaries (vaginal devices) to prevent and treat POP by supporting the organs in their healthy position.

During this work, I was researching ultrasound 3D scanning technology and developed for Dr. Arabin GmbH new process for the production of individual pessaries using 3D printing.
